Mother
How can it be, how is it possible?
How can it be that you're so glorious, that you're so magnificant, that you're so exalted?
How can it be?
And her response was to look down at me with pity and shake her head gently and say:
Oh no, you don't understand. I'm nothing, I'm a creature, I'm a created thing. He's everything.
...
What actually ended the audience was, I began to worship her. It's very hard to describe what that means, but my heart, the movement of my heart transgressed into worship.
And she had to leave and she kind of discreetly left at that point. She kind of backed away: I can't stay here if you're going to do that.
But that was basically that very human, very natural mistake to make, if I can say so. We know for an instance when an angel appeared to Saint John in the book of Revelation, it's just an angel who appeared to John and he threw himself on the ground and began to worship the angel. And the angel said: Get up, that's not appropriate. I'm a creature like you.
And we know the Blessed Virgin Mary is the Queen of angels. We know that she is more exalted than the highest of the angels.
If the natural response of the human soul to simply an angel is to kind of mistake it for divinity and begin to worship it, you know, how much more natural it is when it's the Blessed Virgin Mary, even though it's completely inappropriate.
